Political Reform
Reforming the way politics works in America is a considerable task. It is, however, possible thanks to political reform passed in the early 1900s. At least 26 states have ballot initiatives and/or veto referendums. The pathway already exists for significant change in a majority of the states.
As for the other 24 states, legislation must work it's way through the system to allow citizens to create ballot initiatives and/or referendums. This is a long-haul process that will take a minimum of 6 years. Had we started 6 years ago, it could already be done.
Let's not let another 6, 12, or 20 years pass before we finally hold ourselves accountable for our government's actions. We already pay the price for their failures. They have little incentive to regulate themselves as they face no real consequence – only benefits.
